My thinking here is that the organization that Wim has proposed is logical and, if carried out, I believe that horizontal, vertical, pie, whatever menus would be easy to implement. However, I am not opposed to only having vertical menus implemented in -gui... I just really want to see a separate menuRepresenation
for menus and nspopupbuttons.

Lets just make sure we are all on the same page so we aren't wasting each
others time! :-)



I think that it is important that the gui Menu structure makes it possible to have horizontal menus, even if the code is not there and in a separate bundle. It would be nice to have the menu structure worked out so that it is general enough to support different menu types (strict MacOSX header compatibility is probably not important, as even their system doesn't appear to be compatible with itself).
