My thoughts, exactly.

I find it astonishing that a journal like Foreign
Affairs that spouts the official US line and emails
from the State Department are suppose to encourage us
to think? Think about what exactly? That the US is
"spreading democracy"? Remember the British and the
White Man's burden? The French and their mission to
civilize the world? The Germans and their belief in
the master race? The Italians under Mussolini and the
"Mare Nostrum" and the New Rome he wanted to build?
The people's democracy that the Soviet Union wanted to
impose?

To us, US foreign policy sounds like a very, very bad
dream.
