The Files like "FB66728EB7F23D273FE8C" are the files in which mldonkey saves
what it has downloaded already of that file, if you delete those files you
loose all progess you made in downloading them.
the files i was referring to are the temporary config files for example
"downloads.ini.tmp" or "files.ini.tmp" these are used while mldonkey is
running. on a proper shutdown through telnet/web/gui-interface mldonkey
deletes them. on startup mldonkey checks if these files exisits, if they
exist mldonkey knows that the process wasn't shut down properly and bails
out.
they should be in the "~/.mldonkey" directory, simply delete all the files
with the *.tmp extension and your ready to start the core again.
all of your downloads should then continue were the were before you lost the
connection(at least all chunks that were complete are still complete).

if you use the mldonkey version that came with your distribution, it is very
likely to be outdated and this may be the cause of your connection lost
problem.
you should download a more recent binary of mldonkey from spiralvoices site
http://ftp.berlios.de/pub/mldonkey/spiralvoice/ . the 2-5-16u core is the one
that works best for me.

almost any unix program(including mldonkey) puts out error messages on the
terminal it was started from, so if there is problem with a programm open a
terminal and start the programm from there to see those error messages.

the best english site with forums for information about mldonkey is
http://mldonkey.berlios.de/
