I'm not entirely sure who Linus could assign it to in good faith.  You
certainly can't fork it over to a corporation (SCO anyone?).

I really don't see this all as a matter of trust, but a matter of
ownership.  IMHO, if a project is bona fide GNU, FSF should be assigned
everything.  But that's just me and my flawed Utopian view ;-)

I can live with whatever happens...I'm almost positive my life span will
not change whatever the outcome.
