What I'd like is a programmable instrumentation application that could
attach to and detach from a running simulation. Perhaps it could even
be based on a GDB network debugging protocol, so that the application
would have the option of regulating execution at the instruction
level. (Such features would probably belong in an `expert' panel.)
The way to get something like this done is to contribute work or money.
