Here, it is quite difficult to see.
Can you send me the complete output of the commands
% cd doc
% latex freefemDoc.tex

By the way if you use 'make -k' it will compile the code even if the 
documentation is not compiled. But it seems to me that you are trying to 
build a package, aren't you?
