Then, it is strange that 'make' failed... Did you use the '-j' option? There 
was a bug with that is now fixed (in cvs) for the compilation of the 
documentation... the documentation is built by
'pdflatex freefem3dDoc.tex' and 'latex freefem3dDoc.tex'
