I attach defaults.list and mimeinfo.cache. Note the [] headers!

Yes, m.e. corrupted the cache if it found a header in
the defaults.list file. That is fixed now, m.e. now
creates the defaults.list file with that header if the
file is missing.

This defaults.list file do not change any system behaviour,
it acts just as a list of the defaults for the tools. Nautilus
creates this list if it is missing by taking the first *.desktop
file for every mimetype in the cache file. m.e. uses it in the
same way - to set the default in the cache file, and the cache
do change system behaviour on the fly.

Your mimeinfo.cache contained an error, line 22 had an empty
mimetype:

audio/mpegurl=

This made the radiolist show "FALSE" and thus messed up
everything else. Maybe i should make some kind of check
of this, sed-out such rows that do not make sense?

Try the v 0.8.3:
http://web.telia.com/~u97007522/linux/code/mimeedit/

This will probably go into the tools/mimeedit tonight.
