2007/5/2, Rob Savoye <address@hidden>:

It can take a think skin to be a free
software developer sometimes...

Don't worry, it's not a question of pride, it's that it takes up a lot of time.
Think: fifteen minutes of work, five hours of arguing about whether
if (c==0) should be if (!c) or if (c == static_cast<magic_doobry **>0)

Six hours I've been sitting here today, and I have done almost nothing
except mail instead of chasing bugs and cruft like I had intended.
Maybe I should just close the mailer when I want to work, and pay the
price in ignored messages the next day...

  So I think we should all feel free to comment on commits

Sure, but also should evaluate whether something matters enough to
spend N minutes * M peoples' time on it. I mean strk seems to comment
on every commit, question every decision anyone takes and answer
almost every mailing list message. For me, that seems too much, and
the effect is paralysing.
