Well, I still consider myself a relative newbie, and by the sound of it,
I really must be - in a month of using tla daily, I haven't once used
archive-mirror.

Although I've wrapped it in shell scripts, I typically run archive-mirror several times a day. It serves two primary functions for me:

        1) backups
        2) faster/more reliable access

Basically, for every archive I've got, there are at least four mirrors... maybe up to six or so. It would take quite a conspiracy for me not to be able to check out a tree.

For any project I want to track, I'd typically rather just mirror the thing and track it, doing checkouts and updates from my local mirror.
