Cool.  Anything that gpsd should patch to be better/easier?

I still don't understand why anyone would run gpsd/ntpd for a stratum 1
under systemd(umb).  A lot of complication for negative benefits.

Can you confirm that your gpsd is running on start, before any gpsd
clients connect to it?

Interesting.  As this pages says:

So the distro formerly known as Raspbian.

No mention of Ubuntu or Buster anywhere on that page.

Gary,

It would have been nice to have the scons install libgps and the 
gpsd.service etc. files.  It fails to do this, as I mentioned earlier.

NTP works very well with systemd, no need to change that and potentially 
complicate or break other things.

ps -e | grep gps  shows a program running before I run any gpsd clients. 
NTP just uses the kernel pps and other local/Internet servers for the coarse 
time.  It's independent of gpsd.

The OS is Buster.
