OK, here are my results.

Win 8.1 latest updates install, 1920x1200 video.  Octave 3.8.2, eps 3.08.
x64 for all components.

The link for the PNG of the plot is below, and here is the link for the EPS

The EPS file has a horrible font compared to the PNG file, but the plot
looks as expected.

Let me know if there is any more data anyone would like.

Dear John,
thank you for testing. The above is just a warning, not an error. Can you
check if testplot.eps was created?

And is this a Octave 3.8.x MXE build installation?
