Follow-up Comment #13, bug #59483 (project octave): Octave has its own inputrc file that is read when Octave starts. That is done from the version-rcfile. So probably the best thing is to add set enable-bracketed-paste off to the file scripts/startup/inputrc in the Octave sources.
