Error Message - Swarm-1.4.1

Hi,

I am running swarm-1.4.1 on SGI v6.5 machine.
I am not able to run gdb even though it installed
correctly. when I start gdb with the executable
and the core file I get the message:
"core" is not a core dump: File format not recognized

When I do a file on core, I get back "ascii file"

I was wondering if anyone has been able to run gdb
on the SGI.  

I did compile the program with the -g option. do I need
to use some other option for sgi machine?

If anyone has been able to run gdb on the SGI machine
could you please send any pointers?
