That is very nice, but how can we scale?

Imagine millions of people want to use such a site, how will we pay
for the infrastructure and yet remain "Free as in Freedom" (whatever
you may think that means for hosting).

If we want to replace gmail or facebook, etc., we will need to pay for
physical sources.
