Hej,

tar keeps file permissions. CVS has no file permission history, so it's
not possible to change it. But perhaps it keeps the initial file
permission which it had at first commit time. In this case perhaps
protux' ./compile had at this time the correct permission, and mustux' not.

| So, I would suggest just to delete ./compile from cvs repository and do a
| fresh commit afterwards with correct permissions. RFC

if CVS really keeps the initial permission, this would indeed be the
solution.
