hmmm, I hadn't seen this memory leak problem till last night when I was
downloading a large multipart post.  The post consisted of 50 10 meg parts. 

My machine is a dual p3 733 with 512 mb.  While pan was downloading and
decoding, the memory gradually degraded to zero, and then proceeded to eat
my 768 meg swap file.  The end result was a locked up system, not a crashed
program but every spare bit of memory was used to the point that the system
could not function, and I had to press the magic reset button.

If I download headers from a couple of big hitters
like the binary multimedia groups, the memory will now
be in the 100Mb mark. If I cue up some really big
attachments to download this keeps increasing with
each attachment until either PAN crashes, or the
machine crashes, by which time it is well over the
450Mb mark.
