This is the standard SuSE RPM-install location. This machine was set up by
doing a
clean SuSE 6.0 install, followed by a standard SuSE `update' to 6.1. (before i
re-compiled egcs). This is the path I have in my notes which I took during the
setup
process. Unfornately, I can't connect to the machine to check these -- it is my
home
machine and I at work right now.

Tonight (Western Australia time) I will go through the whole Swarm install
process
again and record all the required details. So I will pass on all I can
tomorrow. I
have just finished my Honours research and thesis using Swarm, so up till now I
have
not wanted to update for fear of breaking something. (I will have two or three
publications out in the next few months). Now it is high time I had a complete
re-install on both machines, so i am keen to solve this problem in a sensible
and
reproducable fashion.

BTW. I use SuSE rather than Red Hat because, for the work I do, I have found it
more
`scientifically' oriented and more reliable, with excellent backup support. I
think
the `which distribution' question is really a matter of personal taste.
also BTW Marcus, you get a grateful acknowledgement in my thesis. The help ypu
provide on this list has been a huge help to me. Thanks!!!

Cheers,
Matt
