Of course, it's our fault that such identifiers are occasionally
necessary to make a model work with multiple versions of Swarm. 
Alex has added some preliminary support for marking methods, etc. as
deprecated, but we don't yet have support for raising informational
events when these methods are invoked.  That's a 2.1 feature, I think.
