So, I purchased a progeny debian linux install disk and tried to install it
upon a "refornatted" (deleted all other partitions)
harddisk which contains windows alone on the primary partition.
The GUI installer failed, which led me to use parted from the command line.
Parted immediately reports an error regarding incorrect partition table
informatrion generated by
another boot manager (in this case Partition Magic). I had the option to ignore
this so I did.
I then tried to use the print command, I received an "unable to align partition
proper;ly..." and then the following output:
minor start end type fs flags
1 23.563 6024.375 primary FAT boot,lba
What can one do to fix this?
kindest regards,
