Maybe you installed the wrong version then, or didn't find the
prominent link to the installation manual at http://www.debian.org.
If you actually need a `installation manual' then something is already
wrong. Installing GNU should be simple business, and shouldn't
require a 110 page manual (that is the size of the Debian GNU/Linux
installation manual!). Blaming that one used the wrong version of the
installer is simply unacceptable; the user shouldn't have to care
about such things.
The installation should not require any manual at all, or any visits
to some web page; to assume that one has a network connection is
always the wrong assumption to make.
A good installer should be self documenting.
