Here are some ideas for "GNUnix" as an alternate distribution:

----
This Operating System is very simple in appearance, with the main menu
containing a set of re-branded "best of breed" applications allowing
the new user to begin work quickly.

The install is very minimal (such as http://TinyCoreLinux.com ), but
*appears* to contain enormous amounts of Free Software.

The main menu is also the "Package Manager", with all applications
available but slightly faded until the user attempt to run them - at
which time they are seamlessly installed (preferring bit-torrent, with
http fallback) and then launched.

Abandoned applications may be (according to settings) silently
uninstalled after some amount of disuse to reclaim disk space.

Each window displays an extra '+' button which is used to report bugs,
request features, and generally interact with the community about that
application.

All included and installable and even 'suggested' software must
qualify as "Free Software" as defined by the Free Software Foundation.
