How about something like:

A score block simply consists of a single music expression. That music
expression may be followed by midi, header, layout and/or paper blocks.

For example:

\score{
        ...music expression...
}

or perhaps

\score{
        ...music expression...
        \layout{...}
        \midi{...}
}
