I am in favour of Gitlab.
I'm not a developer. Sometimes I contributed doc or website fixes.
My (main) work of translator won't be affected at all by this decision.
What I care most is the replacement of Sourceforge with something
better.
If choosing Gerrit means keeping Sourceforge, I would see it as a lost
chance to have a better issue tracker and an integrated workflow.

Also a lot of time can be saved for those on the lists and for that a
random internet Joe who wants to report a bug or problem and can look
something up relatively easily to see if it has already been been
reported, again Rietveld is not useful for this and I cannot see how
functional Gerrit is for this either.
I agree: the search on Sourceforge is terrible and slow.
As I used to be a member of the Bug Squad and verify that closed issues
were actually pushed to master and solved the reported problem, I'm
happy that this boring task might be finally handled by a modern
platform like Gitlab.
