Ah. I'd compiled swarm with --disable-shared (I think due to some advice 
somewhere in the documentation), so there's no libjavaswarm.so in the Swarm lib 
directory, only the static library libjavaswarm.a and something called 
libjavaswarm.la.

Does javaswarm depend on there being a shared rather than a static libjavaswarm?
