It's possible to try it on a server running as a virtual machine.

I would recommend the most recent version of Ubuntu Server or Desktop to run Bibledit-Web on.

Some helpful notes are here:

Wishing you well, Teus.

Thank you Teus,

I don't have experience setting up a server but am willing to try. Is it
possible to do this using a virtual machine such as VBox? Are there detailed
instructions somewhere that I could follow to set it up?

Thanks again,

Tim

Hi Tim,

It is not sufficient to use a simple web server for setting up Bibledit-Web. It
won't run there.

The application needs a full Linux host.

There are some options for doing that:

1. Rent a virtual private server.
2. Set up a laptop connected to the Internet.

For our project we used option 2. The laptop runs Ubuntu Server, and is behind
a router in somebody's home, with port 80 opened, so that outside requests go
through to that laptop.

Teus.

Bibledit-Web seems to be the way to go but I don't have my own web server for
setting it up. Does one just need space on a web server in order to set it up,
and if so, how much space? I'm just curious how others have set it up.

Thanks,

Tim
