jepp. I know that. But the newly started core does not complain at all 
about not being able to bind() at all. And I am actually able to connect 
to the newly started core which itself ist not able to connect to any 
donkey-server.

As I told in my previous mail, the old core was kind of hanging (the 
reason I (at least tried to) killed it with kill <pid>). It seems like 
it actually closed the sockets listening to the client interfaces, but 
did not close down the sockets listening for other edonkey-clients. The 
newly started core did not detect this.
