Hello Bradley, Paul, Richard and fellow Savanah-hackers,
I haven't responded much to previous sent mails, due to lack of free
time, but mostly out of irritation of how the situation has been
handled.
It's indeed unfortunate that the (other) Savannah-hackers
weren't included in bringing Savannah back up.
I'm certainly thinking about Mathieu, because he has done a hudge job
the last year. And that's because Mathieu reacted like he did.
Also, I am wondering, and I think Mathieu also, how we will get the
system back. Will it still work with the different setup?
On the other hand, I do understand that something had to be done to
secure the system. The FSF sysadmins are certainly the best people
for this job. I very interested to learn what has been done, and how
it has been done.
It's also a good job we now know that Savannah is a top priority of
the FSF. Hopefully we will be able to count on the FSF staff in the
future and that problems will be handled asap. I don't think this
will be a problem.
Now, a practical question, that I think should be answered now:
When the Savannah is installed again, users will have have to
reregister again. What with projects? Will they have to be imported
again? Or will we put the the projects that replied already back
ourselves? Please add trivial questions.
As I won't be able to help with the "setup" of the Savannah system, I
don't know much about the inner workings yet, I will be able to help
with other stuff.
But I wont' be able to spend to much time, and I would like to keep
that time as small as posible. This because Next month I have to
prepare for exams and take exams too.
I would like to know how the reactivation will happen. Or if you
haven't thought of it, let us think of it now.
Rudy
