I know about that Greek root, but the name "Eglot" conveys no meaning
to me.  If we imagina thet the package's name were "E-lanmguage", it
would still convey no meaning to me.  So many things in Emacs are
related to languages (either human or programming) and do different
things with them, that this doesn't say much.
