That would be swell.

Another idea (was it already mentioned) would be:

Be able to configure the default value in the date prompt.  It could 
either be today's date or nil.
This way, it is still convenient to create a dated task, but requires 
fewer keystrokes for the more common action (for me!) of creating 
undated tasks.
