Most of the above might be true, but I have a z/OS console to my left as I
type this.  It's a 3270 emulator running on a PC instead of a 3179 terminal
connected to a 3174 controller, but it's still a z/OS console.

JCL is definitely still useful in the IBM mainframe world.  Where I work
there are just over 1,300 members in our production JCL library.
