nice utility... not what I'm looking for, though.

it looks like the telnet interface is fairly complete.  I think I'm
going to try to write a complete perl wrapper around that, so that myself 
and others can then have a straightforward perl interface to interact with 
all the major file sharing networks and automate searching tasks that 
currently involve slaving over a gui.  :)
