I agree with you, Pietro, that perhaps two publications would be useful.
And I see no reason why the 'serious' one couldn't be wholly web-based,
even if it is peer-reviewed. Examples already exist.
As for the redhat pointer, no sooner did you post your message than they
re-organized their web site. The Linux gazette page is now found at
<http://www.redhat.com/linux-info/lg>.
