I will continue to use "USian".   America is the name of a continent.
The United States of America is the name of a country.

I think our siblings to the North and South have some really excellent
non-US but American perspectives to add to the world....

By "perjorative term" you mean "USian"?   Gosh.... i've long regarded
that as not perjorative -- just more precise.
