Hello Pierce et. al.

I need to wake up and digest all the links you sent
before I reply. 

Just one short comment on Iranian weblogs.

The world they describe is largely the young Tehrani
upper middle classes. It is surreal indeed. Actually
the people I was referring to are middle-aged, have a
working wife to make ends meet and usually have kids.
Has something to do with my age group...

I am struck time and again how familiar their lives
sound.
