You aren't seeing things or having problems. 0.94 is a complete rewrite
of Pan, and not all features have been implemented yet. There have also
been a few new features, like the ability to use more than one server at
a time to grab article from.

Stay tuned for changes as they are coming quite quickly now -- however,
if you need full features, stick with the CVS version. It's (mostly)
stable and works best (IMO) for heavy binary usage.
