I take that back!  I found out the hard way today that hdf5 1.4.0 has
some scary data lossage bugs!  I've added the needed preprocessor
checks to today's snapshot.  (And strongly suggest anyone using HDF5
to handle data revert to 1.2.2.  Note if you aren't using .hdf files,
it won't do any harm to the functioning of Swarm to stick with your
1.4 install.)
